EPD is providing planning, design, permitting, construction documentation and administration associated with the Mammoth Park Rehabilitation. The work involves the renovation of the infamous Giant Slide area, replacement and installation of a small playground including safety surfacing, development of a 9-hole disc golf course, renovation of two tennis courts and a street hockey court, and miscellaneous tree planting.
EPD, along with Westmoreland County Parks and Recreation, has gone through multiple design alternatives and initial costs for the County as the design process evolved. EPD studied the site and design alternatives with 3D modeling software in order to study grades, slopes, aesthetics and to provide advanced visualization to the client during the design process. The 3D model was the base for fundraising graphics provided to the County during the project to promote the project and aid in fundraising and community events.
Currently, EPD is working through the construction documentation and permitting process with the County in preparation for construction.
