Janco Swart is a Community Planner with a Master’s degree in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University. His planning interests stem from a background in Political Science and his experiences as an immigrant from South Africa, growing up in various urban and rural environments. He strives to achieve urban design and planning outcomes that weave together strong community networks, prioritize pedestrian experiences, and consider the dynamic nature of our political and social systems.

Throughout his studies, Janco developed an interest in local government, placemaking, streetscape design, and land-use planning. His goal is to one day utilize his planning knowledge to sink deep into a Borough, where he can make meaningful, long-term connections with existing and future residents.

Janco uses his previous experience as well as his knowledge from home and abroad on a variety of projects including Mechanicsburg Comprehensive Plan Update, Allegheny Shores Sharpsburg Riverfront Overlay, Lower Nazareth Zoning Ordinance Updates and Upper Nazareth Zoning Ordinance Updates.
