Environmental Planning & Design was established in 1939 to provide public and private clients landscape architectural, urban design and community planning services. Over the past seven decades, we have developed a nationally acclaimed practice and an enduring legacy. The present organization includes Jack R. Scholl, Andrew JG Schwartz and Susan M. Simmers as Principals.
John and Philip Simonds began the company (formerly Simonds and Simonds) and are among the most recognized American landscape designers. Today, they are widely regarded for their contributions to the Landscape Architecture profession. Building on this legacy, EP&D evolved into a nationally acclaimed multi-disciplinary firm with projects located in more than 30 states. The firm has received numerous honors and recognitions for design creativity, planning innovation and environmental sustainability. This core principle has led us to our many milestones of success.
